Our client group
 Our clients (known as peers) are adults aged 18-65 and are a mixed gender group.
Key features of our client group:

Most clients have a long history of contact with mental health services.

Many clients come to us following acute admissions or being held on section.

Other clients are living in the community but their needs exceed the resources available.

Most clients engage in some form of destructive behaviour, whether through direct self-harm, eating disorders, or substance misuse.

Typically, clients are in their 20s or 30s; however, we have worked successfully with clients across the 18-65 age range.

Clients usually have problems which stem from traumatic events and environments in childhood.

Clients usually have significant problems in relating successfully to others.
The most common diagnosis for our client group is Borderline Personality Disorder. Clients have complex needs and may have dual diagnosis. We work with clients with a range of complex needs, and diagnoses include:
